The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Deep Tech Talent Initiative has reached its milestone of training one million people in deep technology fields across Europe.
Launched to boost Europe’s competitiveness in emerging technologies, the initiative has mobilised more than 600 partner organisations, including universities, tech companies and NGOs, to offer a wide range of training programmes. These courses span over 210 deep tech areas, such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, advanced computing, and innovation and entrepreneurship.
Among the top contributors to the training effort were JA Europe, Intel Corporation, Delft University of Technology, Generation Italy, UiPath and others, while countries with the highest numbers of trained talents included Norway, Greece, Austria, Ukraine and France.
Women accounted for approximately 36 % of all trained talents, with specialised programmes aimed at increasing female participation in deep tech fields.
The milestone not only reflects numerical success but also real-world impact, equipping students, professionals and lifelong learners with skills essential for future innovation and economic growth. The initiative will continue evolving its course catalogue and partnerships to support Europe’s role as a leader in technology-driven industries.
