Alexandra Balkova to present at ATS 2026 on Venture Capital and Early Stage Investment Trends

The Athens Tech Summit (ATS 2026) is proud to welcome Alexandra Balkova, General Partner & Head of Portfolio at Startup Wise Guys (SWG), as a speaker in the Investing in Tech track. Balkova will share her expertise on venture capital trends, early-stage investing, and strategies for scaling startups across international markets.

Alexandra Balkova is a seasoned early-stage investor and portfolio leader with over a decade of experience in venture capital. She currently oversees a global portfolio of hundreds of startups across more than 60 countries, focusing on early-stage acceleration and cross-border scaling.

Her earlier career began in public relations and communications across logistics, telco, and IT sectors, before she transitioned into investor relations and deal sourcing at a family office in Ukraine.

At SWG, Balkova leads accelerator programmes specialising in B2B SaaS and pre-seed companies in “New Europe” (CEE/CIS) as well as broader international markets. Under her leadership, SWG has deployed dozens of accelerator batches and seed-stage investments, establishing the firm as one of Europe’s most active pre-seed investors.

Alexandra brings deep insights on the intersection of early-stage venture funding, founder support frameworks, and regional growth ecosystems. Her operational experience in deal sourcing, portfolio development, and founder enablement equips her to address themes of startup value creation, structural transformation, and cross-border growth strategy.

She is particularly passionate about supporting female-led teams and helping founders build sustainable, globally oriented companies.
