Zacharia George of Launch Africa Ventures to present at ATS 2026

The Athens Tech Summit (ATS 2026) is proud to welcome Zacharia George, Co‑Founder and Managing Partner of Launch Africa Ventures, as a speaker in the Investing in Tech track. Zacharia George is a leading voice in African venture capital, heading Launch Africa Ventures, the most active early‑stage VC fund on the continent. He has been instrumental in addressing the funding gap between seed and pre‑Series A stages by backing technology startups across more than 20 African countries. Prior to founding Launch Africa, George played a central role in building premier acceleration programmes, including Startupbootcamp AfriTech, and served as Head of Africa Investments for U‑Start, Europe’s largest network of private multi‑family offices.

George’s career spans global finance and startup ecosystems. He began as an investment banker on Wall Street, where he specialised in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance strategy, and risk management with firms such as Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital. Drawing on this international experience, he transitioned into venture investing and has since supported more than 100 high‑growth tech startups in Africa, including notable companies in fintech, payments, and digital services.

At ATS 2026, George will address key topics in early‑stage investing, including how VCs identify and support high‑impact startups, how founders can engage with investors, and why frontier markets like Africa represent significant opportunities for technology investment.
