EU invests over € 307 million to boost Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies

EU European Commission Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies

The European Commission has announced an investment of over € 307 million to support artificial intelligence (AI) and related digital technologies across the EU.

 

The funding is provided through two new calls under the Horizon Europe Digital, Industry and Space programme. It will support projects focused on trustworthy AI, data platforms, robotics, quantum technologies, photonics, and virtual worlds, as well as next-generation AI agents and advanced sensing technologies.

 

Part of the funding will also strengthen Europe’s digital infrastructure through support for the Open Internet Stack Initiative.

 

The investment aims to boost innovation, competitiveness, and Europe’s technological leadership. Applications for the funding are open to companies, research organisations, universities, and public bodies, with a submission deadline of 15 April 2026.
